Llew Thomas

After graduating in PPE from Balliol College, Oxford, Llew found his way to Japan through the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme. He taught English and Music to school students on Izena, a small island in the sub-tropical, Okinawa archipelago.

On returning to the UK, Llew worked as a location coordinator and line producer for Japanese television broadcasters, focusing on news and current affairs documentaries. A desire to spend more time in the outdoors led him to Walk Japan, where he specialises in marketing and the development of the company's Kunisaki Trek, Kyushu and Hokkaido Hikes.

Llew's passions are rock-climbing and playing jazz piano - it is not unknown for his trips to include impromptu jam sessions with musically inclined ccustomers. When not traveling on Walk Japan business he can be generally found, very much at home, exploring the mountains and cliffs of the British Isles.
